The PDA is used for point of sale order entry, or order editing. All orders are actaully processed on the server computer and not on the PDA itself. This prevents orders from being lost due to wireless signal loss or data corruption due to data being altered during wireless tranmission.

Computer Used for Hosting the Database File and Terminal Services
This computer is used for hosting the database file and managing terminal services connections for networked PDA devices. This computer should be faster than a normal pc due to the load of the server operating system. It should also have redundant drives to keep your data safe in case of drive failure.

+ A reasonably fast hard drive (The higher its RPM, the better)
